Homer Glen House Fire Collapses Part Of Floor; No One Injured: FPD

The first call came in reporting the fire at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Homer Glen.

HOMER GLEN, IL — There are no injuries reported after a house fire on Wednesday on Stone Oak Way in Homer Glen, the Northwest Fire Protection District told Patch.

The first call came in reporting the fire at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, from a neighbor who said they heard a boom and saw fire in the back of the house, Deputy Chief Todd Fonfara said. The neighbor was uncertain if anyone was home at the time of the fire.

Fonfara said crews arrived and searched for an occupant, but no one was found.

"Our investigators are looking into the fire," Fonfara said. "It started in the kitchen, in the stove area, the fire burned up and through the floor."

While crews were working, part of the second floor collapsed, and firefighters had to pull out of the home and continue to extinguish from the outside, according to the fire district.
