Homer Glen Parade, Family Fun Day Set For Sept. 5

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer Glen will host its annual parade and family fun day on Sept. 5, celebrating America's 250th birthday and the Village's 25th anniversary.

The Village said this year will feature a new foam party to end the day.

The festivities will kick off with a parade at 10 a.m. on Sept. 5, followed by the family fun day from noon to 4 p.m. at Heritage Park, according to the Village.

The event will also feature food, music, activities and entertainment. Here's a look at the schedule, provided by the Village:

• 10 - 11 a.m. - Parade - Stars, Stripes and Silver

• 12 - 4 p.m. - Inflatables Open
• 12 - 1 p.m. - Captain America, Spider-Man, and Princess Meet and Greet
• 12 - 4 p.m. - RC Race Cars
• 12 - 4 p.m. - Food Vendors Open
• 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. – Magic Show
• 1 - 1:30 p.m. – Lawn Games
• 2 - 2:30 p.m. – Bubble Show
• 2:30 - 3 p.m. – Lawn Games
• 3 – 4 p.m. – Foam Party (bring towels, if you like)

For parade viewing, you should arrive at Heritage Park no later than 9:45 a.m. to park and view the parade. 151st Street will be closed from 9:45 to 11 a.m. for the parade.
