Homer Glen Plans Annual Chalk-It-Up Contest

HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer Glen will host its sixth annual Chalk-It-Up on Aug. 5.

Registration for the sidewalk chalk art contest is now open, and a $5 entry fee is required. According to the Village, each participant will be given one box of chalk and assigned a block workspace. Artists can also bring their own extra chalk, chalk pastels and blending tools.

The all-ages contest will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the active core in Heritage Park, 14240 W. 151st St.

Prizes will be awarded for best use of color, most interesting characters, most creative theme and best overall effort.
