Hopeful D33C Candidates Sign Out School Board Petitions

Two current board members have signed out school board petitions for the April election.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Hopeful candidates for the upcoming school board election in April have already signed out school board petitions from the Will County Clerk's Office. Nominating papers must be filed Dec. 14-Dec. 21, and must include 50 signatures from qualified voters.

In Homer Glen, District 33C has several board member positions up for election. According to the Will County Clerk's Office, as of Nov. 30, Jennifer Rudolph, Karen DeFilippis, Kevin DeSchaaf and Melissa Chandarana have all signed out school board petitions.

DeFilippis is the current secretary for the board and was elected in 2017, according to the district website. DeSchaaf is also a current board member elected in 2017.

Even if hopeful candidates sign out petitions, it does not necessarily mean they will file the papers to run for office. The consolidated election will be held April 6, 2021.
