New Avenue Lane Closures Start As Construction Begins
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the resurfacing of New Avenue, informs motorists of possible delays.
HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that resurfacing of New Avenue from just south of 135th Street to just south of Cico Road, in Lockport, will require daily, intermittent lane closures, beginning Monday, May 4.
The project is expected to be completed in September.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
