Lockport Police Department and school personnel interviewed all those involved and found there was no credible threat.

LOCKPORT, IL — A potential "kill list" involving students at Kelvin Grove Middle School was found to not be a credible threat, according to a letter sent to parents Oct. 30. The school said it learned of social media posts about a "kill list" and school staff was made aware of a situation involving a threat toward Kelvin Grove students.

The letter states Lockport Police Department and school personnel interviewed all those involved and found there was no credible threat. The social media posts contain false information about the incident, the school said.

"District 91 has been committed to making the safety of our students and staff one of its biggest priorities. The district continues to invest in improving the safety and security of our buildings and in crisis planning and preparedness with the students and staff," the letter states. "The district also treats any potential threat in a serious manner and involves the proper authorities and personnel to assess the situation to ensure the safety of all of our community members."
