The Legacy Ranch Road Rally Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser

LOCKPORT, ILLINOIS - June 9, 2020 - The Legacy Ranch is "revving up" and collaborating with local businesses throughout Lockport, Homer Glen and Lemont for a new event in the wake of COVID-19 and a pivot to social distanced FUNdraising for a good cause.

The Legacy Ranch Road Rally Scavenger Hunt will take place on Saturday, June 20. Teams will take to the streets of our community by car and solve clues designed to bring them to our business partners' doorsteps. Once the teams solve their clues and know which businesses to visit, they make their stops and do a specially assigned "task," such as eating a soft serve ice cream cone in under 3 minutes (when stopped at an ice cream shop), do twenty jumping jacks (when stopped at a gym), or performing a group sing-a-long of a favorite country song (when stopped at Gold Sponsor COUNTRY Financial). Each team will take photos along their routes and The Legacy Ranch will post and tag the businesses to shine a light on this community collaboration.

"We wanted to do something fun and community inspired to get people out and engaged," says Sandi Moleski, Owner of The Legacy Ranch. "We all know how much our local businesses have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. A Scavenger Hunt, filled with fun clues and decorated teams and cars, is a way to do that while still being socially distanced." Proceeds from the event will support the therapeutic services of The Legacy Ranch, a premier equine-assisted therapy facility in the Chicagoland area, serving special needs and at-risk children and families. The Legacy Ranch operates under the Anne Elizabeth McComb Swaney Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

A full list of all sponsors and scavenger hunt business partners will be included on The Legacy Ranch website at www.TheLegacyRanch.org/events.

Teams can register on The Legacy Ranch website by June 15 to join the Road Rally Scavenger Hunt. Participants are encouraged to "theme out" and get creative with their cars and team decorations. Prizes for scavenger hunt 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded.
