Lockport Approves $2.84M For Waste Water Treatment Plant Project
Improvements will increase capacity at the Division Street waste water treatment plant.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport City Council has approved phase 1 of the improvements project to the Division Street waste water treatment plant for $2.84 million.
"This is one of those big, budgeted items, but important," Mayor Steve Streit said during Wednesday's city council meeting.
According to council documents, phase 1 improvements will increase the maximum pump capacity, specifically during wet weather conditions, so that the sewer system treatment can handle the increased flow. The project is also designed for future expansion to increase the overall plant treatment capacity.
