Lockport K9 Receives Grant For Medical Kit
Lockport Police Department's K9 officer Citgo was awarded an equipment grant from Hero K9.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police Department's K9 officer Citgo was awarded an equipment grant from Hero K9. The department a medical kit will be provided to the agency at no cost, thanks to the support of an anonymous sponsor, who provided the $150 donation.
Citgo is a 5 and a half year old Belgian Malinois who is partnered with Lockport Police Officer Ganger. The department said Citgo is certified in patrol and narcotics detection. Citgo is an energetic, social, and hardworking police dog, and enjoys all aspects of his work, as well as meeting members of the public.
The department said it has also requested a door pop + heat alarm system and in-squad kennel for an updated squad car for Citgo. All equipment is made possible through general, directed, or equipment sponsor program donations. The donation required to fully fund both requests is $4,000.

The department said the medical kit, valued at $150 and provided by Hero K9, will be shipped directly to the department. Each medical kit includes veterinary-grade supplies sourced through Veterinary Hospitals Association in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. A complimentary BarkBox will also be sent to the department for each K9 receiving equipment related to this grant award.
