LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport man has been arrested after fighting his friend in and resisting arrest in Lockport, police said. Jacob Nagel, 19, of the 600 block of Oak Street, has been charged with resisting an officer, battery and assault after an incident on May 2 in the 600 block of Oak.
The Will County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to Oak Street at 5:39 a.m. Thursday for a disturbance. When deputies arrived, they saw Nagel in the street screaming obscenities. Deputies tried to calm him, but Nagel was incoherent and not listening to commands.
Police said he was taken into custody for his own safety, and he was kicking, screaming and spitting at officers. Through investigation, police learned Nagel and a female friend had been drinking when they got into an argument and he physically battered her and said he was going to kill her.
