LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport man is accused of punching and spitting on three law enforcement officers after an altercation with his parents over the weekend, police said. Michael Kampenga, 26, of the 14900 block of West Victoria Crossing, was arrested March 2 and charged with domestic battery, resisting a peace officer and three counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer.

Police said they received a 911 call at 6:35 p.m. March 2 from a home in the 14900 block of Victoria Crossing about a man who was verbally threatening and physically fighting with his parents. When officers arrived, they found a male victim with a bloody face and a car that had significant damage, police said. The victim told police he had been battered by Kampegna.

He dropped the knives when ordered to do so, but as officers tried to arrest Kampegna, they said he punched two officers several times in the head and spit a mixture of saliva and blood in the face of another officer.
