Lockport Man Sexually Assaulted 2 Girls: Sheriff

LOCKPORT, IL — A 50-year-old Lockport man was arrested Friday after sexually assaulting his neighbor's children, Will County Sheriff's Office said. Police said George Guzlas, of the 2700 block of Lawrence Avenue in Lockport Township, has been arrested for two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault.

The sheriff's office said deputies were dispatched to a residence on March 8, where they spoke to a father of two teenage girls. The father told officers that his daughters had just told him that about three years prior they had both been sexually assaulted multiple times by their neighbor, Guzlas.

Police said the assaults took place when one of the girls was between 10 and 11 years old; and the other girl was between 7 and 11 years old. After hearing from the father, detectives immediately started an investigation.

According to police, detectives secured a search warrant for Guzlas and served it Thursday at 4 p.m. Guzlas was brought in for questioning and ultimately arrested.

He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility where he is awaiting bond court Friday.
