Lockport Park District's Challenge Fitness Reopening July 1
Challenge Fitness facility will resume normal business hours starting July 1 with some modifications to operations.
LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township Park District's Challenge Fitness facility will resume normal business hours starting July 1, the park district shared on its Facebook.
All memberships to the facility, at 2021 S. Lawrence Ave., which were on hold will now be reinstated, the park district said. Challenge Fitness offers a fitness center, a lap pool, steam rooms, a whirlpool, indoor tennis courts and various fitness rooms.
As the state moves into phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, there will be several modifications to operations at Challenge Fitness. According to the park district, some changes include: strength equipment will be properly spaced and relocated to tennis court 7; all GroupX fitness classes will be held at the Dellwood Park Community Center gymnasium; shower facilities and lap swim will be open and all cardio equipment will remain in the fitness center, but spaced out every 10 feet.

The nursery, hot tub and steam rooms at the facility will remain closed.
