Lockport Plans Veterans Day Celebration

LOCKPORT, IL — The city of Lockport and the Lockport VFW Post 5788 will host the annual Veterans Day celebration honoring those who have served or are serving the country. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Lockport VFW, located at 1026 E. Ninth Street.

According to the city, the mayor is also holding the Annual Veteran Story Contest which is open to all veterans and active military who would like to participate by sharing their service story at the ceremony. The two categories, humorous and reflective, will be voted on by those present. Past or current service members with the best service story in each category will be awarded with a gift card to the Public Landing Restaurant.
