Lockport Police Conduct Distracted Driving Campaign

The campaign will run April 16 through April 30.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department will conduct Distracted Driving Enforcement from April 16 through April 30. According to the department, the enforcement will be conducted in support of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. This campaign will focus on enforcement of applicable State distracted driving laws in addition to other traffic laws.

Distracted driving, including texting while driving, is more than personally risky, according to the department. When you text and drive, you become a danger to everyone around you.

This enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries resulting from distracted driving.
