Lockport Police Conduct Memorial Day Enforcement Campaign
Police said there is zero tolerance for seatbelt violations and impaired driving.
LOCKPORT, IL — To promote safety as Memorial Day approaches, the Lockport Police Department has announced it is teaming up with the Illinois Department of Transportation in a state-wide effort on seatbelt enforcement and impaired driving.
The department said the Click It or Ticket campaign, which will be held through May 28, is designed to remind motorists to use seatbelts and car seats. Police said there is zero tolerance for seatbelt violations and impaired driving.
Police said citations will be written for any seatbelt violations and any driver found driving impaired can expect to be arrested.

The Memorial Day enforcement campaign is part of the Illinois “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs supported through federal funds administered by IDOT.
