Lockport Police Department Receives State Accreditation
The department was assessed on the basis of 67 separate ILEAP standards regarding administration, operations, training and personnel.
LOCKPORT, IL – The Lockport Police Department recently announced the department has been accredited through the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police’s Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. The department said this program recognizes organizations that have achieved excellence in law enforcement services.
The department was assessed on the basis of 67 separate ILEAP standards regarding
administration, operations, training and personnel. According to the department, to successfully complete the accreditation process, the policies and procedures must reflect the standards established by ILEAP, and the department must also demonstrate that it is following said policies and procedures.
The department said the accreditation confirms that it has achieved a level of professionalism among law enforcement peers and validates the methods in which department members provide services to the residents and the general public in the Lockport community. Accreditation also promotes accountability and reduces liability and risk exposure.
