Lockport Police Issue 36 Seat Belt Citations During St. Patrick's Enforcement

The department also made one impaired driving arrest.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police Department issued 47 citations during its St. Patrick's Day impaired driving enforcement, the department shared in a news release.

The department said it issued 36 seat belt citations, two speeding citations, nine other moving/equipment citations, as well as one suspended driver's license. The department also made one impaired driving arrest.

The St. Patrick's enforcement ran from March 13 through early March 23.

“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives,” Lockport Police said. “Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or another drug, impaired driving puts everyone at risk.”
