Lockport Police Issue 49 Seat Belt Citations During July 4th Enforcement

The department also made one impaired driving arrest during the campaign.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police made one impaired driving arrest during its Fourth of July Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns, the department said in a news release.

The department also issued 49 seat belt citations, seven speeding citations, eight distracted driving citations, and 22 other moving/equipment citations.

"Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this statewide effort to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads and encourage seat belt use," a news release states.

Lockport Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies conducting the crackdown.
