Lockport Police Plan Enforcement For Child Passenger Safety Week

Lockport police will step up enforcement of child safety laws Sept. 17-30.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police Department will step up enforcement of child passenger safety laws as it participates in Child Passenger Safety Week Sept. 17-30.

According to police, the focus of Child Passenger Safety Week is to raise awareness and encourage all parents and caregivers to ensure children are riding in appropriate car seats based on age and size. Proper installation is also key in making sure seats are effective in protecting children.

The campaign is funded by federal traffic safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
