Lockport Police Plan Fourth Of July Traffic Enforcement Effort
The enforcement effort, which focuses on drunk and unbuckled drivers, will run from June 15 through July 6.
LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police Department has announced its plans for a Fourth of July traffic enforcement effort with a focus on drunk and unbuckled drivers, the department said. The enforcement effort will run from June 15 through July 6.
“We encourage local residents to celebrate Independence Day safely. If you’re going to drink, don’t drive. Too many people die behind the wheel each year because of those who choose to drive impaired by alcohol or other drugs. Our officers will be out in full force, showing zero tolerance for impaired drivers," police said.
The Lockport Police Department will join the Illinois State Police and more than 160 other departments for the increased enforcement effort.

- Make sure everyone in your vehicle wears their seat belt. It is your best defense against an impaired driver.
