Lockport Police Release Thanksgiving Enforcement Results

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police made one impaired driving arrested and issued 65 seat belt and child safety seat citations during its Thanksgiving enforcement, the department said. Law enforcement agencies across Illinois participated in the enforcement campaign Nov. 22 through Dec. 2.

Lockport Police took the following enforcement actions:

• 65 seat belt citations
• One DUI
• Eight other equipment violation citations
• Five distracted driving citations
• One suspended/revoked licenses
• One uninsured motorists

During the mobilization, extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours,
when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur, the department said.
