Lockport Police Warn of Daytime Burglaries in Area
Police want residents to be careful, following reports of multiple car break-ins in nearby towns.

Lockport Police are reminding residents to lock car doors and remove valuables, after a string of car break-ins in neighboring towns.
“We have received reports of vehicles that are being broken into when parents are dropping off their children at day care,” police said in an alert. “The victims left their purses and other valuables in their locked vehicles while they take their children into the day care center. The offenders are then breaking the windows on the unattended vehicle and taking the valuables before the victim returns.”
While no such incidents have occurred thus far in Lockport, police urge residents to be aware and take precautionary steps to avoid becoming a victim.
