Lockport Public Works Cleaning Up Trees, Branches After Storms

The public works department will be picking up downed branches and trees throughout the rest of the week.

LOCKPORT, IL — Thousands of people across the Chicago suburbs remain without power after severe storms swept across the area on Monday. In Lockport, the public works department will be picking up downed branches and trees throughout the rest of the week.

According to a notification from the city, priority will be given to roads and sidewalks to provide safe travel for drivers and pedestrians. Branches pulled to the curb will be picked up by the city after all roadways and sidewalks have been cleared.

If you are in need of branch removal, you can place branches at the curb and allow up to a few days for the branches to be removed. Requests for branch removal can be entered through the city’s online request system using the categories "Parkway Trees (Dead/Deceased)" or "Obstructions."
