Lastly, the Kelvin Grove rear yard water main project finished. This project included the abandonment of old water mains in rear yards of homes, with new ones installed in the front. The rear yard water mains' proximity to fences, sheds and landscaping made maintenance very costly, and it was an inconvenience to residents, according to the city.

Over 2,600 feet of new water main and 134 new residential water services were installed, the City said. As part of the restoration, 55 new trees were also planted throughout the subdivision.
