LTHS Board Honors Swimmer, Soccer Team, Football Team

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School Board of Education recognized several athletes and sports teams at its Monday board meeting, including swimmer Ellie Fontanetta, the football team and the boys soccer team.

Fontanetta, who is a senior, was recognized for her accomplishments at the Class A Athletes With Disabilities state finals. Fontanetta was the state champion in three events, the 50 free, 100 free and 100 breast, according to board documents. The state finals were held Nov. 13 in Westmont.

The board also recognized the boys varsity soccer team for their third place finish at the Class 3A state finals. The team includes: Peyton Abdel-Razik, Jakub Michalik, Nathan Blazewski, Dawid Molek, Luke Cibula, Dylan Morgan, Gabriel Czako, Ryan Pavelka, Adam Doyle, Matthew Rosier, Sean Flannery, Braeden Roth, Ismael Gomez, Zachary Skiba, Michael Hasso, Makkonen Stampley, Danny Jimenez, Dylan Vilcek, Danny Kajtezovic, Dominic Williams, Tyler Malczewski, Mateusz Wrona and Patrick Marshall.

Also at the meeting, the 2021 Class 8A state championship-winning football team was recognized by the board, and was presented with a key to Homer Township for their accomplishment.

"You guys are the champions, and you should all be proud of yourselves," Homer Glen Mayor George Yukich said at the meeting.
