LTHS Honors Seal Of Biliteracy Students

The Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy provides recognition to students who have attained a high level of proficiency in another language.

LOCKPORT, IL —Lockport Township High School is recognizing its students who have earned the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy, the school shared on its Facebook.

The Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy provides recognition to high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, listening, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English, according to the District.

In order for students to be considered candidates for the Seal of Biliteracy, they must meet the established criteria for the award. Once the criteria have been met, students will receive the Seal of Biliteracy on their transcript and on their high school diploma.

Students also earned a state commendation toward the Seal of Biliteracy. According to the Illinois State Board of Education, the state commendation is given to students who demonstrate significant progress toward achieving a high level of proficiency in English and another language.
