Mamma Onesta's Plans To Open Specialty Gift Shop
The gift shop would sell pasta, sauces and other gift items highlighting Italian culture.
LOCKPORT, IL — At its Oct. 2 meeting, the Lockport City Council approved an amendment to its liquor code to fit the need of a new specialty gift store. According to board documents, the owner of Mamma Onesta's, Frank DeGrassi, plans to open a specialty gift shop next to the restaurant, located at 1100 S. State St., #3512.
The gift shop, which was the former space of a photography studio, will sell pasta, sauces and other gift items highlighting Italian culture, possibly including items from Lockport's sister city, Asiago, Italy. Board documents note the liquor license would be needed as they plan to sell packaged bottles of wine. There would not be on-site consumption or tasting of the wines.
According to board documents, the amendment to the liquor code revised the Class H-1 liquor license to allow Mamma Onesta's specialty store.
