Man Arrested With Stolen, Loaded Handgun: Lockport Police
A Calumet City man was arrested on Saturday night in Lockport for felon possession of weapon.

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police arrested a Calumet City man on Saturday night who was carrying a loaded, stolen handgun and who was also a convicted felon. Lockport Police said the department made a traffic stop on South State Street near Dellwood Park at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 for a car driving with no headlights. Michael Breashears, 35, of Calumet City, was a passenger in the vehicle and was ultimately arrested for felon possession of a weapon.
Breashears was in the back seat of the car with open alcohol, according to Lockport Police. When he was patted down, officers discovered the loaded handgun, which turned out to be stolen. Police said Breashears is a convicted felon, with a criminal history of controlled substance charges, assault and being a gang member.
According to police, Breashears also has a pending case out of Cook County for weapons charges. He was arrested without incident in Lockport, and was taken to Will County Jail.

The driver of the vehicle was also cited for no valid driver's license, but was released at the scene.
