Shots Fired In Barber Shop; Man In Custody: Sheriff

Deputies responded to a call of shots fired at 1 p.m. Friday at Conway's Barber Shop, 3226 S. State St., in Lockport Township.

LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, IL — A man is in custody after firing eight shots inside a Lockport Township barber shop Friday, the Will County Sheriff's office said. Deputies responded to a call of shots fired at 1 p.m. Friday at Conway's Barber Shop, 3226 S. State St.

When deputies arrived, they spoke to four employees and clients who were inside the shop at the time of the incident. According to police, the witnesses said a man came inside the store and fired four shots. He then exited the shop and fired four more shots through the front window.

According to police, the man ran southbound on Grandview toward Riverview. Many people within the neighborhood saw the man and were able to point out his whereabouts. Deputies apprehended the man east of Grandview on Riverview without incident.

A gun , which turned out to be stolen, was found, police said. The man is in custody with sheriff's detectives, and his identity has not yet been released.

Police said no one inside the store was injured. This incident remains an active investigation.
