Memorial Day Ceremony Planned In Lockport

LOCKPORT, IL — Memorial Day falls on May 25 this year, and the City of Lockport will hold a hero banner dedication and Memorial Day ceremony that day.

At 10 a.m., residents can gather at the City Hall flag pole, 222 E. Ninth St.

"This special ceremony will honor the brave men and women featured in Lockport’s Hero Banner Program while also recognizing Memorial Day and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country," the city website shares.

The Lockport Heroes banner program recognizes Lockport veterans by displaying their pictures and names on a banner throughout downtown from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.
