Nicor Natural Gas System Work Planned In Lockport

LOCKPORT, IL — Nicor will be working on the natural gas system throughout several areas in Lockport. An exact date was not given for the work, but a release states the project "will soon be starting."

According to a release, Nicor will be working on various projects, including inspecting sewers, installing natural gas main and natural gas line, identifying new meter locations and utilities, connecting the system and retiring facilities, and restoring landscaping and pavement.

Areas affected by the work will be: the 100 to 300 block of East 11th Street, 100 block of East 16th Street, 100 block of East 17th Street, 100 to 200 block of East 18th Street, 100 to 200 block of East 19th Street, 2000 block of Boehme Street, 1400 to 1500 block of Connor Avenue, 100 block of Daggett Avenue, 700 block of East Division Street, 1500 block of East Street, 2000 block of South Hamilton Street, 700 block of Janice Street, 1000 block of South Jefferson Street, 1500 block of Johnson Street, 1600 block of Mary Ann Lane, 1500 to 1600 block of Sisson Street, 500 to 700 block of South Street, 1000 to 2000 block of South State Street, 1100 to 2100 block of South Washington Street and 1500 block of West Street.
