Betty was a women of many talents an endless creativity.

Betty J. Weir, age 87, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Lightways Hospice Home with her loving daughter by her side. She was born April 23, 1938, in Joliet the daughter of the late Elbert and Agnes (nee Fonck) Cook.

Betty was a women of many talents an endless creativity. As the proud owner of her interior design business, she had a true gift for transforming spaces with beauty and warmth. She was a talented seamstress and artist. Betty loved to bake and cook, sharing her delicious food with family and friends. She loved and adored little children and spending time with them.

Betty is survived by her children, Curtis (Pam) Vilt, and Elizabeth(George) Lenard; grandchildren, Autumn Spiegel, Dustin Vilt (Joanie), and Alysa Vilt (Michael), and Jennie Lenard; great grandchildren, Rose Spiegel, Noah Vilt, Haven Vilt, Taylor Vilt, McKenzie Vilt, George Vilt, Jolene Johnson, and Ailey Johnson; brother, Robert (Chris) Cook; and nieces, Elizabeth and Katie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean and nephew ,Seth Cook.

Visitation for Betty J. Weir will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Queen of Apostles Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
