Gene was raised in an orphanage in Chicago before later transferring to Guardian Angel Home in Joliet along with his sisters Joan and Pat. Despite facing numerous hardships throughout his life, he met every challenge with resilience, strength, and determination.
Gene was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for many years. During his time with the union, he cultivated a wide range of skills and talents that truly made him a man of many abilities. Whether he was astonishing others with his gift for palm reading, offering foot massages worthy of a five-star spa, or immersing himself in crossword puzzles, Gene found joy whenever he could keep his hands or mind engaged.
