Power Restored To Customers In Homer Glen, Lockport

High winds Wednesday have caused power outages across the area, including in Homer Glen and Lockport.

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — Over 500 people were without power in Homer Glen and Lockport as high winds hit the area Wednesday. However, by 12 p.m., power had been mostly restored to residents. According to the ComEd Outage Map, 57 people are without power in Lockport Township.

Crews are out assessing the damage, and no estimated time of restoration was given. Power outages are expected Wednesday as gusts up to 60 mph are possible in Homer Glen and Lockport.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Lake, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Kendall and Will counties for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The weather service said winds will be 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 and 60 mph. You can expect the winds to blow down trees and power lines, and power outages are expected. Travel will also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on north south roads.
