Repairs On I&M Canal Trail Between Romeoville, Lockport
Larger road mix gravel has been placed in washouts and potholes to fill in low spots, so users should look out for large rocks.
LOCKPORT, IL — Trail users should use caution and look out for larger rocks if using the I&M Canal Trail between Romeoville and Lockport. The Forest Preserve District of Will County said on its website that repairs are taking place on the trail from 135th Street south to Second Street in Lockport.
Larger road mix gravel has been placed in washouts and potholes to fill in low spots, the preserve said. Smaller crushed limestone will eventually be placed on top, and this entire stretch of trail will then be rolled to smooth out the path.
Users should use caution as they navigate these areas with larger rocks by slowing down or picking an alternate trail.
