Residential Burglary, Retail Theft: Homer Glen, Lockport Blotter

Police reports from Will County Sheriff's Office through Jan. 22.

The following information is from the Will County Sheriff's Office. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Lockport

  • An unknown person broke into a residence in the 16000 block of West McKenzie on Jan. 21. They stole stole jewelry, cash, women’s shoes, boots, gloves, a pair of sunglasses, headphones, cosmetology kit, a purse, wallet and NHL jerseys.

Homer Glen

  • A loss prevention officer at Meijer, 14169 S. Bell Road, observed a man and woman on Jan. 17 inside the liquor department of the store. He saw the suspects placing six bottles of liquor in a cart and then relocate to a different aisle within the store. The officer then saw the couple removing security sensors from the liquor bottles and concealing the bottles on their persons. While the officer began to approach the couple they exited the store, entered a silver Chevy pick-up truck and exited the parking lot.
  • An unknown suspect entered the Speedway, 12502 W. 143rd St., on Jan. 18 and asked the assistant manager to check something in the backroom for him. When the employee turned his back, the suspect grabbed scratch-off lottery tickets from the counter. The suspect left the store and drove off in a green Mercury Hatchback. It is believed that the offender made off with a $30 scratch-off ticket.
  • Jill Lynch, 37, of Mokena, was arrested Jan. 20 at South Bell Road and West Country View Lane for DUI and improperly stopped/parked vehicle.
  • An unknown suspect removed a package that had been delivered by UPS to a home in the 12000 block of West Lake View Drive on Jan. 20. The victim stated that they saw the UPS driver deliver the package but left it outside on the porch for about an hour and when they went to retrieve it, it was gone. Four pairs of women’s shoes and a dress were inside the packages.
  • A victim in the 17000 block of South Robert Emmett Drive reported Jan. 21. that after she hired a painting company to do work inside her home she realized that her wedding ring and an anniversary ring were stolen.
