Body Found In River Is Not Missing Lockport Man: Police
Sean Joy, 20, was last seen around midnight on March 22, near Ninth and State Street.
LOCKPORT, IL — A body found in the Des Plaines River on Monday is not missing Lockport man Sean Joy, police said. The body was found in the river between Channahon and Joliet, and identification has been withheld so family can be notified.
Joy, 20, was last seen around midnight on March 22, near Ninth and State Street. Joy is 5'10", white, wears glasses and may be wearing a yellow and sky blue hoodie.
His family said Joy could be anywhere at this point and asks the public to share anything they may know. The Chicago Tribune reported Joy doesn't have a history of leaving without letting someone know.

Lockport Police said they have also been actively looking for Joy. Officers have searched areas of the canal, woods, train tracks and open fields from Lockport to Romeoville.
According to police, all police agencies in the Northern part of Illinois have been notified including Metra and Chicago PD.

"We do not believe he intends to harm himself however this is not normal behavior for him so the family is concerned," Detective Sergeant John Arizzi said. "He did leave a note but it was vague and did not mention hurting himself. We are concerned that he may just be in a bad place mentally, although he does not have a history of mental illness. The family is very concerned as are we."
