Several Structures, Vehicles Burn In Overnight Blaze In Lockport Township

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.

LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, IL — Several structures and vehicles were ablaze early Sunday morning in Lockport Township, authorities said.

Firefighters responded around 2:30 a.m. to the 2200 block of Fairmont Avenue, where they found fire in a detached garage, some small outbuildings, a motor home and several passenger vehicles, according to a news release from the Lockport Township Fire Protection District. The fire also spread to the exterior of a main home but was quickly extinguished.

The occupants were safely evacuated and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross, authorities said, adding no injuries were reported, and the cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.

Eight neighboring agencies assisted the Lockport Township Fire Protection District during its response to the incident.
