Sex Solicitation Of a Minor Charges For Lockport Man: Cops

A Lockport 21-year-old was arrested Tuesday for indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a minor and unlawful grooming.

LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport 21-year-old was arrested Tuesday for indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a minor and unlawful grooming. Evan Gutkowski, 21, of the 700 block of South Elm, had a warrant issued for his arrest after an investigation by Lockport Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

In August 2017, Lockport Police was notified by a third party that Gutkowski was supposed to be meeting an underage female to possibly perform sexual acts in Dellwood Park, police said. The female was actually a fabricated online profile.

Police said officers located Gutkowski in Dellwood Park where he was questioned and released from custody due to a lack of any actionable evidence at the time of his questioning.

Police said they continued to investigate Gutkowski, and collected sufficient evidence from the third party source to bring the case to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office for the consideration of criminal charges.

A warrant was approved earlier this week, and Gutkowski was arrested less than 12 hours later.
