HOMER GLEN, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of shots fired Monday night in Homer Glen, near unincorporated Mokena. Will County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kathy Hoffmeyer said deputies were dispatched to the 17000 block of South Spring Meadows Drive near 179th Street at 10:30 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired.

A resident was in his backyard when he heard gunshots, Hoffmeyer said. The resident saw a dark gray sedan in the area, with two people inside. He went to talk to his neighbor about the situation, and they both heard another gunshot.

The neighbor also saw a vehicle in the area and described it as a dark gray Nissan Maxima, according to police. The car drove west on 179th Street, and both heard a third shot.
