Shots Fired At Vehicle At Homer Glen Gas Station: Sheriff

The sheriff's office said deputies were called to Meijer gas station, 14125 S. Bell Road, at 3:40 a.m. after a report of shots fired.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Shots were fired at a vehicle at a Homer Glen gas station early Thursday, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said deputies were called to Meijer gas station, 14125 S. Bell Road, at 3:40 a.m. Thursday after a report of shots fired.

According to the sheriff's office, a man was leaving the gas station, and was approached by two unknown hooded people who started shooting at his vehicle. The two shooters were on foot at the time of the shooting, and multiple shots struck the car as the man quickly drove out of the parking lot, police said.

The man was not injured, according to police.

Police said the two people approached the victim's vehicle from behind the adjacent Dunkin' Donuts parking lot, and after firing several rounds, they returned to the same area and fled in a white car, which was seen leaving the vacant lot just north of Bank of America.

This investigation is in its early stages, the sheriff's office said. Detectives remain in the area and are collecting evidence pertaining to this case.
