Summer Reading Kick-Off Party Planned Saturday In Homer Glen
Head out to the Homer Township Public Library on Saturday for a kick-off party, including ice cream.
HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer Township Public Library will hold its summer reading club kick-off party, including free ice cream treats, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 10.
“Summer Reading is coming in hot with a cool treat for summer readers,” Library Executive Director Sheree Kozel-La Ha said in a release. “Everyone can select their favorite treat option from the wide variety provided by the Alk Ice Cream Truck.”
The truck will be on-site in the parking lot at 14320 W. 151st St. Tickets for free ice cream will be given to all who register for the summer reading.

Teen volunteers will also be on-hand to assist with registrations.
“We are so pleased that area teens enjoy volunteering at the Homer Library as part of their service hours,” Kozel-La Ha said. “Typically, we work with 50+ teens each summer who are great assists! Some of the teen activities support our community initiatives like Inclusion Game Night, Summer Reading, Kids Crafts, and more.”

The summer reading kick-off will be held rain or shine. The treats are sponsored with support by Old Plank Trail Community Bank, one per person, while supplies last.
