Three Cars Drive Into High Water After Storm In Homer Glen
All occupants were safe and out of the vehicles and police were on the scene on Wednesday night.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Three cars were trapped in high water near 159th Street and Bell Road, according to police. All drivers and passengers were safe out of the vehicles and police were on the scene on Wednesday night.
A severe thunderstorm rolled through Homer Glen around 9 p.m. Wednesday, cancelling fireworks shows and bringing torrential rain to the area, which caused flooding on the road. There was also an obstruction in the drainage gates in the area, which caused standing water, police said.
A video from Northern Illinois Fire Ground Photos shows one car was stuck in new construction attempting to U-turn to avoid the water, and had to be pulled out. Police said the water level rose to the windows of the cars, and all the cars had to be towed.
