Three Injured In Head-On Crash In Lockport: Police
One person had serious injuries, while two others were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

LOCKPORT, IL — Three people were injured in a crash on Sunday afternoon in Lockport. According to State Police, a two vehicle crash occurred on the Ninth Street bridge at 3:28 p.m. July 29. The crash involved a Toyota Prius and a Hyundai Santa Fe.
Police said the Toyota Prius was traveling westbound on the Ninth Street bridge and the Sante Fe was going eastbound. For unknown reasons, the Toyota crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into the Santa Fe.
The driver of the Toyota, Marlene Satunas, 66, of Dahinda, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Santa Fe, Ewa Konopka, 43, of Romeoville, and a juvenile passenger were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Satunas has been charged with uninsured motor vehicle, no valid driver's license and improper lane use, police said. This crash is still under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
