Woman Headbutts Lockport Officer After DUI Arrest: Cops

Junai was transferred to the custody of the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a bond hearing on Thursday.

LOCKPORT, IL — A Tinley Park woman was charged Wednesday in Lockport after headbutting an officer and refusing to cooperate, police said. Gantuya Junai, 42, was charged with DUI-alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane use and obstructing a police officer.

Police said an officer stoped Junai's vehicle at 167th Street and Prime Boulevard at 10:08 p.m. Feb. 20 after disobeying a stop sign and improper lane use.

Junai refused numerous requests by the officer to provide identification and refused to exit her car, police said. Officers had to physically remove Junai from her vehicle.

When she was out of her car, police said Junai was arrested for DUI and obstructing a police officer. After she arrived at the police department, she still refused to cooperate with officers, who were attempting to fingerprint and photograph her.

At this point, Junai headbutted one of the officers, police said. The officer was not injured.

Due to Junai's refusal to cooperate with the booking process, she was transferred to the custody of the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a bond hearing on Thursday.
