Woman Punched in Face During Attempted Robbery in Lockport
Police are searching for the suspects.

LOCKPORT, IL — A woman was punched in the face and slashed at with a knife during an attempted robbery in Lockport Wednesday afternoon.
The 28-year-old woman told police she was walking in the area of East 18th and South Jefferson streets around 2 p.m., when two men approached her and demanded she hand over her cash. The woman was punched in the face during the struggle that followed her refusal to give them anything.
The men also pulled out a knife and ”began slashing at her coat,” reports the Daily Southtown, but she was not cut. The men left empty-handed.

The woman described the suspects as white, one about 6-foot-2 and a muscular 200 pounds, wearing tan khakis and a black hoodie. The second man is about 5-foot-7, 140 pounds. He has a goatee and ”bright blue eyes.” He was wearing blue jeans and a yellow hoodie with a black zipper.
