100 Marian Catholic Students Named AP Scholars
A small percentage of the more than 1 million students worldwide who took the AP exams did well enough to receive the honor.

Ranking among the best in the Chicagoland area, Marian Catholic High School recently had 100 students named AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Exams.
Only 18 percent of nearly 1.7 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit AP Scholar recognition.
“The trend report from The College Board clearly shows that Marian’s percentage of total AP students with scores of 3 (5 scale) or higher has remained strong,” said Mike Rodewald, AP Coordinator at Marian Catholic. “Without getting too statistical, the five-year average for Marian is 79 percent, while the state of Illinois average is 66 percent and the global average is 61%.”
