2 Flossmoor Homes Demolished After Firefighter Training

Several area fire departments used two vacant homes on 198th Street for training before they were demolished.

FLOSSMOOR, IL -- Two Flossmoor homes on 198th Street were recently demolished, but not before firefighters from the community and others nearby used the structures for training purposes.

Several departments within MABAS 24 as well as the Posen Fire Academy in MABAS 22 provided the training at the houses at 3601 198th St. and 3752 198th St., the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle reports. The homes were both demolished in the third week of September.

Other towns in 24 that participated in the training were Homewood, Hazel Crest and Country Club Hills. The training included scenarios firefighters face on a regular basis.
