Anti-Abortion Protest Coming To Flossmoor: When And Where

The Pro-Life Action League has set the dates for its anti-abortion tour, with a stop planned for a busy intersection in Flossmoor.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — The Pro-Life Action League, an anti-abortion group, is once again planning a series of protests in Chicagoland, with several stops planned in the south suburbs this month. A busy intersection in Flossmoor is one of the spots where the group plans to gather.

Previous protests in the group's "Face the Truth" tour have included large, often graphic, signs that include images of fetuses with phrases.

“Too often, the issue of abortion is cloaked with abstraction,” said Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. “Euphemisms like ‘choice’ hide the reality that abortion is an act of extreme violence imposed on an innocent human person at the most vulnerable stage of life. We’re going out there to make sure that when people hear news about the fate of Roe v. Wade, they also think about the fate of every unborn child threatened with abortion.”

The group plans to gather near the intersection of Governors Highway and Vollmer Road from 9-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11. It will be their first stop of the day that includes visits to Orland Park and Mokena.

"Participants will visit sites throughout the Chicago area, holding pictures of beautiful unborn babies along with signs showing the victims of abortion," the group wrote on its website announcing the tour dates and stops.

While visits to certain towns usually come once a year for the Pro-Life Action League, this will actually be their second stop in Flossmoor since the beginning of 2018. In March, group gathered for a protest outside the then-new Planned Parenthood in the village.
